Air Pollution

A Harvard University research study found that there are no “safe” levels of pollution, at which the risk of dying early tapers off. The study suggests that air pollution cuts Americans’ lives short, even at levels well below the legal limits set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Overall, the study found that exposure to ozone and fine particulate matter are linked to an increased risk of premature death. scientists calculated that reducing fine particle pollution by 1 microgram per cubic meter, nationwide, would save about 12,000 lives each year. By lowering ozone pollution by 1 part per billion, another 1,900 lives would be saved annually.

Solution

Take preventative steps to improve the air quality in your home. There is no such thing has having a home that is “too clean” or “too pure.” Air is always circulating in and out of your home and it is important to limit the air pollution floating around you.
